We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. the key is to recognize what you have going for you before you lose it.
i gotta say it though...I disagree with the black being wasted space. The weight of the black anchors the shot, and sets the tone - it's deeeeep!!!. It's nice as a reference to the black sand found on AKL's west coast beaches too - there's enough detail there.
Maybe it's just a tast thing, but i reckon the black is pretty important to the shot. I tried cropping it after your suggestion...and it kinda killed it. Try it if you can be bothered...keen to hear what you think. (maybe just cover up the black with your hand on the screen...)
Looks like the start of some grand adventure!?!
